Entering the new year, the story of AI application in higher education continues to become a topic of special interest. In the early spring exchange, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tu – Vice President of Intracom University shared many profound perspectives on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning, and emphasized the spirit: “Mastering technology to unleash potential”.
Reporter: Hello teachers, thank you for accepting the invitation to participate in today’s interview. According to the teacher, What are the reasons why AI has become a central topic in higher education today?
“Artificial intelligence is developing at an unprecedented rate and becoming one of the central topics of the digital age. Many people are concerned that AI can replace humans in some jobs, especially in the field of education. However, if viewed from a positive and proactive perspective, AI is not a threat but a powerful tool to help people improve their abilities and expand their own limits. Teacher think that, not just in higher education but in almost every field, AI is reshaping the way we work, learn and create.
In education, AI offers the opportunity to access knowledge in a more flexible and personalized way than ever before. Learners can exploit rich resources that have been systematized, analyzed and intelligently suggested, thereby shortening the time to search for information and focusing more on critical thinking, creativity and problem solving. AI can become a learning assistant, assisting in explaining concepts, recommending materials, and simulating real-life situations, helping the learning process no longer be limited to the traditional classroom space.
For lecturers, AI helps significantly reduce repetitive tasks such as synthesizing documents, building syllabuses, grading papers at a basic level or analyzing learning data. When freed from time-consuming administrative tasks, teachers can focus more on innovating teaching methods, designing creative learning activities, and inspiring students. More importantly, AI does not replace the role of the teacher but rather highlights the core values of education: guidance, thought provoking and personality nurturing.”

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tu – Vice President of Intracom University shares his views on the role of artificial intelligence in higher education
Reporter: In the discussion “AI applications in higher education”, He emphasized that AI does not replace instructors. Can you explain this point of view more clearly?
“One of the questions I receive the most is whether AI can replace interpreters, office workers, creative people or even lecturers. I think there is, but it cannot be completely replaced. Strictly speaking, AI can take on part of the job, but cannot completely replace humans. If viewed correctly, AI is not an opponent but a powerful assistant, especially in education, where teachers play a leading and inspirational role.
No matter how smart, AI still lacks the core thing that makes education valuable, which is human quality. Human quality is empathy, encouraging eyes, the ability to read students’ emotions, flexibility in each pedagogical situation, and an unprogrammable source of inspirational energy. Education is not only the imparting of knowledge but also the process of nurturing thinking, personality and aspirations, something only humans can do fully.
However, that doesn’t mean we can stay out of the technological wave. Instead of fear, we need to proactively master AI, turning it into a tool to improve teaching and learning effectiveness. As one message is often emphasized to students: “AI will not replace humans, but people who know how to use AI will replace people who do not know how to use AI.” Therefore, mastering technology is not just an option, but an inevitable requirement for each individual and each educator to continue asserting their values.”

Teacher Nguyen Quoc Tu affirms the irreplaceable role of AI in human values in education
Reporter: In order for AI to be effective in teaching, what roadmap should universities follow?
“According to you, the roadmap to bring AI into teaching for Intracom University or into the operations of any organization can be implemented according to the PDCA cycle (Plan – Do – Check – Act) including four clear steps and continuous improvement. First of all, planning, you need to be properly aware of the importance of AI, determine specifically which departments will be applied, on what tasks, resources and implementation time. to avoid following the trend. Next is actual implementation, in which training plays a key role. If we do not understand AI properly, we can easily fall into two extremes, either wasting time on repetitive tasks that AI can support, or over-expecting and assigning AI tasks that require human thinking and emotions, thereby reducing effectiveness. Once deployed, we need to regularly check, measure and adjust to evaluate the appropriateness, effectiveness and problems. Finally, summarize and improve, through discussions, listening to the practical experiences of lecturers and students, inviting experts to help solve difficulties and share the results achieved. This process of continuous iteration and improvement will help AI be integrated systematically, sustainably and truly create value in education.

Teacher Nguyen Quoc Tu guides the roadmap to bring AI into teaching at Intracom University
Reporter: On the occasion of the beginning of the new year, what do you expect for the application of AI in teaching and learning at Intracom University?
“I expect every individual in the school to be able to master technology, because today’s AI has the ability to improve work efficiency many times over if used properly. For students, the important thing is not to depend on AI, but to know how to exploit AI as a support tool to learn more effectively, access previously hard-to-find resources, expand their thinking and practice their self-study ability. AI research can make learning easier, but sustainable progress must still come from each person’s efforts and bravery.
For lecturers, I hope they proactively learn the operating principles of AI, select and apply appropriate tools in teaching, research and learning management. When mastering technology, teachers not only increase work efficiency and reduce administrative tasks, but also have more time and energy to be creative, innovate methods and inspire students. “AI does not replace teachers, but teachers who know how to use AI will become stronger than ever.””
